I'm a graduate student who made the mistake of accepting a job before finishing my dissertation. It's my dream job but now I'm really struggling with finishing my degree. I got the job when I moved here and married my DH in late summer 2008. We started TTC (trying to conceive) in January 2009 and I've had 2 miscarriages so far. The miscarriages interfere with my degree progress, and the stress of the degree doesn't help with my fertility issues...I'm trying to do too much at once. So I'm struggling with a dissertation, handling the grief and stress of infertility, slogging through 2 hours of commuting every day-- and recently and perhaps unsurprisingly, also struggling with a mild depression. The depression comes and goes, as depression does, capriciously descending with brutal intensity and then wandering off unexpectedly hours or days later, as if it had something better to do. I'm trying to figure things out, one day, one problem, one ovulation at a time. Bit by bit I'll get there.
